Microsoft wanted to create better consistency across its global real estate portfolio. To achieve this, Microsoft’s Real Estate & Facilities (RE&F) team conceived a first-of-its-kind in the industry approach known as the Integrator Model.
Global Commercial Real Estate Services firm, CBRE, won the bid to manage the Integrator Model, embedding itself within RE&F with the charge of creating global consistency and sourcing best in class teams from Jones Lange LaSalle, Cushman & Wakefield, and Colliers International.
Mann oversaw the Latin America portfolio and worked in concert with partners in a complex, international environment, providing comprehensive oversight of 42 sites in 21 countries. In Buenos Aires, Mann’s management of the competitive bid process lead to reduced fees to Microsoft by 40% below market.
The pioneering efforts of RE&F and the rigorous methodology introduced by CBRE lead to its selection by Microsoft as Fiscal Year 2013 Service Provider of the Year for Market Agility.
“Roy and I worked together on the Microsoft’s Real Estate and Facilities team. Roy excelled at forging cooperative relationships with program, operations, and regional office teams, providing transaction oversight in Latin America. Roy evaluated sites alternatives, assembled financial models, and drove projects that enabled Microsoft to do more with less as we developed and implemented work place strategies that accommodate the needs of the business.”
